Dr. Janna Madeira

Janna Madeira, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has a professional interest in working with children and adolescents, adult individuals, couples, and families. Her areas of expertise include the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, parenting and relationship issues, grief, and stress management. Dr. Madeira also has a special interest in working with children diagnosed with developmental disorders including Autism and Asperger's Syndrome and has received extensive training in both evidence-based behavioral and developmental treatment modalities.

Dr. Madeira's treatment approach focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment in which she partners with patients to help increase self-awareness and work through emotional issues that are contributing to personal problems and distress. Utilizing an integrative approach based on cognitive-behavioral,  humanistic, and psychodynamic theory, Dr. Madeira empowers her patients to make positive changes that allow for effective outcomes, improved relationships, and an increased sense of well-being.

Dr. Madeira was born and raised on the island of 'Oahu, and is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Argosy University, Hawaii.  Through her own personal experiences, as well as professional work with many different populations and cultures, she is appreciative of the complexity, and sensitive to the concerns of the multi-cultural heritage of the islands. This perspective allows her to understand the various challenges associated with the different socio-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds of her patients and approach each situation with sensitivity and compassion.
